Elizabeth Messman, JD

JD, Harvard Law SchoolBA, University of Notre Dame

Elizabeth is a recent graduate of Harvard Law School and an incoming clerk for the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City. Originally from outside of Des Moines, Iowa, Elizabeth is passionate about animal law and criminal law and hopes to become a litigator. While at Harvard, she was a member of the Harvard Law Review. She has worked for nonprofit organizations advocating for animal rights, the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois, the DOJ's Child Exploitation & Obscenity Section, and for a large law firm in New York City. A philosophy enthusiast, Elizabeth has also taught five philosophy classes to students at Harvard College and the Harvard Extension School.

After scoring a 180 on the August 2022 LSAT, Elizabeth has been an LSAT tutor for nearly four years, helping dozens of students navigate the law school admissions process — both through the LSAT and their other application materials. As the first lawyer in her family, Elizabeth understands first-hand how daunting the process of applying to law school can be, and she hopes to help guide others like her.
